Featured Event
Following ZECHA's 2021 Innovation Award from Baden-Württemberg, AlienTools and ZECHA launched a live endurance test to demonstrate why the Iguana tool technology earned the recognition.
A single 1 mm dual-flute Iguana ball end mill milled non-stop for 30 days, machining high-quality 50×50 mm copper blanks (E-CU CW004A) into detailed medals. After 641 hours and over 27 kilometers of toolpath, the tool showed no relevant wear or shape change — surface measurements matched the programmed Ra 0.25 μm within manufacturing tolerance.
Three special edition medals were auctioned for charity, with all proceeds donated to the Children and Youth Hospice Service Pforzheim.
Innovation Award 2021
ZECHA's Iguana 3D Laser technology received the Innovation Award from the state of Baden-Württemberg — the catalyst for the Milling Challenge that followed.
